These are made with the new silicone Wilton Christmas tree pan I've used silicone pans before without much success. This pan was completely different. I just stretched the silicone away from each side of the tree, and they came right out. I thought they would take longer to bake because of the depth of the pan, but no problem there either. A 'winner' silicone pan. lol. The cakes are chocolate with a candy cane kiss inside of each. The icing is a peppermint buttercreme. Very tasty.
I make and decorate all kinds desserts and treats to tease your cravings.

Nut rolls
I have never made nut rolls before. I always thought they were too much work, but they aren't bad at all. This dough is left over from a class we took on Thursday. We had to make apricot in the class, but I wanted to try nuts. Not a real apricot fan. lol. These don't look that great. I hope the fresh dough will help them look a little better.

Cupcake Pushups
These are the latest in the cupcake obsession. They are very easy to do, but they are such a cute little gift. Who wouldn't love receiving one of these. 2 mini cupcakes, or 3 small cakeballs will fit in the plastic container. Easy to ship too.
Top view: Complete with sprinkles!!

Buckeye Cupcakes
I saw these on Pinterest and thought they really sounded good. Good isn't the word I would use. DELICIOUS is much better. The icing tastes like a nutter butter cookie. They are quite involved to make, but well worth the time.

Cake pops
Has everyone had one of these?
I've had the ones done with the icing mixed in with the cake crumbs, but I think they are
way too much work. So I bought a babycakes machine. They are just the cake, which I prefer. I think the icing mixed in with the cake, then the chocolate is too much sweet.
So, while I wish the babycakes were a bit bigger, these are still fun to make. I did the first ones with a cake mix. I think I will try a scratch recipe next and see what the difference is. I'm taking these to our restaurant today as free samples to see how people like them. Since I live near Pittsburgh,PA, I thought black and gold pops would go well. Gotta be a Steeler's fan around here. Even though I prefer the Penguins. They all use the same team colors, so I'm safe either way. If they go over well, then I will think about selling them. Just have to decide on a price. Decisions,decisions...............

Pumpkin cupcakes
I've been in a cupcake mode lately instead of cookies. I have had the pumpkin pan for a few years so I decided to make some this weekend. I love fall and pumpkins, so I found a MS recipe for pumpkin cupcakes online. They are delish. I already have orders for them this week. And since it has been a very chilly weekend, what better way to warm things up? Plus the spicy smell lasts for days.

What can you start October off with other than Halloween cookies? These are some of my first ones.
Also, since October is BC awareness month, I did some pink ribbons. I put them in a pink 'to-go' cup. Whats better than a cookie and saving the earth one cup at a time?

More Birthdays.............
This is my post that appears on the blog 'Frosting for the Cause today:
I love the commercials where they have a popular singer sing Happy Birthday. And then they add more birthdays, less cancer. That is the idea behind these cookies. So, here is to all the cancer sufferers trying to beat the disease . MORE BIRTHDAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fight as hard as you can for more birthdays. Never stop….
Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy Birthday…….
I would love to send all cancer fighters a bottle of ‘more birthday, less cancer wishes, but a picture will have to do.
I know this isn’t the typical post on this blog because it doesn’t talk about just one person. There are so many people out there with cancer at any given moment, I just want to wish you all ‘More birthdays, less Cancer.

Peace sign birthday cake
This is the birthday cake I did for my daughter. She is a very
'retro' girl. She should have been a teenager in the 70's. She loves all of it.

Jamie's wedding
I made cookies for my niece's wedding last weekend. We had alot of fun, and the bride was beautiful ( the groom too) lol. Probably the last thing Paul would want to be called, but they made a beautiful couple.
We all had a great time. Family from Italy came for the wedding. It is very nice to finally meet Rosario.
It has been a long time since we have had a 'family' picture. I think it turned out very nice.
And finally, these are some of the cookies I did for the reception.

St. Pats and Mardi Gras
I did these cookies for my husbands bd and Mardi Gras. The shamrocks are for him to take to his weekly 'guy' meeting with his soccer buddies.
The Mardi Gras cookies were just because. I saw some made like these on FB by Ali Bee's Bake Shop. Her's were incredible. Mine are so so. I just wanted to try and see if I could do it.

Frosting for the Cause
Thank you Paula for willingly doing all the work that goes into this project. I can only imagine how much of your time goes into it.
Cancer has touched my life quite a few times. The greatest loss to it was my mom in 2001. She fought it , but it won. This is such a merciless disease that destroys so many lives. We thought she had survived the worst, but after 13 years, it came back for a second time. My daughter was born when she was first diagnosed. She had fought and won, so what better way to honor her than naming my daughter after her. I sometimes think this wasn't such a good idea because when Mom died, my daughter took it very personally. She has a ribbon tattoo with a heart surrounding it for her grandmother that she drew herself and had the tattoo artist follow. I made a few of the cookies to match her tattoo.
I made breast cancer sugar cookies to send to the Intercommunity cancer center in my area. We usually do the Susan G. Komen Walk for the Cure on Mother's Day in our area. The donation will go to them. If you have ever participated in a Race for the Cure, you realize just how many people this disease affects. All of those dark pink shirts are for survivors. It's amazing to see just how many women, and a few men, have dealt and won, with this disease. Alot of people wear a sign on their backs for the people they are walking to support, or walking in memory of. I walk in memory of my mom, and in support of my sister who is a survivor. It’s very sad to see the amount of young children who walk in memory of their mom’s. I can’t imagine what it would be like to loose your mother when you are young. I was
in my 40’s, and it was very hard.
Sugar Cookies
3 C. flour
2 sticks butter
1 C.sugar
1 egg
Vanilla extract
1 t. pumpkin pie spice
Combine butter, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice. Beat till well blended. Add egg and vanilla extract. Beat. Add flour 1 cup at a time until well incorporated.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes depending on width of cookie. I usually go for 1/4 inch cookies so they bake 12 to 15 minutes depending on size. Larger cookies need more time.

I roll the dough out before refrigerating it for at least an hour.
I like to use plastic squeeze bottles for the icing. I find I have more control with them.
These are the final product. Thanks for looking.
